Entertainment company EVGLE didn’t start up all at once—instead, it built up over time, first with Victor Burnett and the puzzling renter of his studio, then an entertainment attorney called in to help their fledgling business. Over time, the pieces slotted into place to create the rising success the company has become.
“[Blxst’s] vision was to bring together a bunch of eagles to be able to come together—people who could stand alone on their own, but also come together and make this great transformer figure,” Burnett says in today’s episode. And come together they did. Now, as their company continues its growth, Burnett and Karl Fowlkes are excited to have been able to bring on new staff, including a creative director and various advisers and consultants.
Their growth has been slow, but that’s always been their intention, Fowlkes says—to grow in the long-term rather than rush the company to its apex of success. Instead, they’re doing things their way, and that means taking their time to do things right. Decisions aren’t made hastily—more often than not, Burnett says, they are made by more than one person and without rush, even if that means an hour-long Zoom call. And that includes who the company associates with—from partnerships to new artists, the trio collectively deliberate on who they’ll work with or which artists they’ll bring into the company before they make any decisions.
The duo and Brilliant Thoughts host Tristan Ahumada discuss how they’ve worked through challenges, any changes they would have made based on what they know now and both recent hires and potential new additions—both staff and talent—to the company.
Victor Burnett and Karl Fowlkes founded the rising multidisciplinary entertainment company, EVGLE, in 2018 with Grammy-nominated artist Blxst.
